Scorch
The sweltering heat,
engulfs me,
like a flame,
so intense,
I cannot take it,
the dryness,
of even a shadow,
is there no relief?
Then the rain comes,
at first it steams,
then there’s a calm,
and then a beautiful coolness,
That washes away,
the scorch,
that had engulfed the Earth,
and the humans,
The scorch is finally over,
the rain has won.
