Movies

I walked into the movie theater,

And what did you say?

I know you are in an empty seat,

And it blows me away,

Sometimes I wonder,

Are you watching the screen?

Or are you eating popcorn?

I want to know,

I move in close and see,

That you fell asleep,

The movie on the screen,

Is a romance film,

People come in and sit down,

And I have to sit down,

So a seat next to you is open,

You wake up and smile at me,

I start to cry while watching,

You wrap your arm around my shoulders,

I lay my head down,

And everything seems to be all right,

I got outside to call my mother,

To say I’ll be late,

And I found someone to take,

Me home, I hung up and went back inside,

You were no longer there,

I looked in every row and

People stared at me strangely,

I ran out and found you on the bench,

Your eyes are white and,

You fade away,

I screamed but no one heard me,

My phone rang and I asked “Hello?” desperately,

It was you… it was you…

How could it be, you were gone?

And I ran into the theater,

And you were saying ‘Save me… save me,’

How? How can I save you?

Your hand touches my shoulder,

I turn to face you,

Your face is on a movie screen,

Why… why do you torment me?

I call my mother and ask her to pick me up,

She comes and she asks why I’m so frightened,

I say just drive away from this haunted place,

And she drives fast,

It is now two weeks later,

I’m still having nightmares,

Of you, your smiling bloody face,

And what do you always say?

‘Save me… save me,’

I wish someone would save me,

From that scene in a movie,

here I kissed you,

And you disappeared,

Save me… save me… so I will.
